Service of process is a unique field that represents a legal process required by the court in which an individual or busines is notified of legal action that has been taken against them. MSI has the capability to quickly and efficiently file and deliver the following documents:

Civil Summons

A civil summons is a legal notification that a lawsuit has been filed against someone and orders that person to appear in court. It signals the beginning of a court case. In the case of jury duty, a summons is usually sent by mail.

Subpoenas

A subpoena is a court order, or command, requiring a person to either appear in court to testify as a witness in a case or to provide documents or evidence as related to the case.

Complaints for Divorce

A complaint for divorce is a form claiming grounds for divorce that officially starts the divorce process.

Child Support, Custody, and Visitation Documents

  • Documents for child support include a Summons and Complaint, which asserts the party is a rightful parent, establishes any financial or medical support orders, and orders the party to appear in court. Other documents that may be served are a Voluntary Appearance Form and a Child Support Order specifying the amount to be paid.
  • Documents for custody include a Complaint for Custody/Paternity, Summons, and Joint Preliminary Injunction.
  • Documents for visitation include an order establishing a schedule for either fixed visitation, supervised visitation, or no visitation.

Eviction Notices/Detainer Warrants

An eviction notice is a notice filed in court by a landlord and delivered to a tenant who has violated his rental lease or agreement. A detainer warrant, like a summons, is an order to appear in court on a specific date for an eviction proceeding.
